Please join us for our first speaker of the year! Tom O'Brien will discuss the aspects of a financial plan that ALL parents should be aware of and what 2-3 action items each attendee can take away from the talk to protect their family, minimize taxes and align their actions with their goals.

Topics will include:

• College Saving
• Basics on Wills/Trusts/Guardianship
• Investing 101
• Life and disability insurance

This free event will take place on Thursday, Feburary 6th 2020 from 7:00pm to 8:30 pm at 1820 Gateway Drive in San Mateo. The meeting room is located to the left of the front doors to Building 1820. There is ample free parking in front of and behind the building. Bring a notepad and a pen to take notes. Feel free to jot down some questions in advance and Tom will do his best to answer as many questions as possible. Wine/Soda/Water and light appetizers will be provided by a local catering company courtesy of Tom O’Brien and SGC Financial.

About our speaker:

Tom grew up in Half Moon Bay and has been a financial planner for over a decade. Tom’s firm is an independently-owned, fee-based financial planning company that has been around since 1950. Tom services include financial planning, investment management and insurance. Tom has a BA from UC Santa Barbara, an MBA from Thunderbird and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). He is married and has twins that are in 2nd grade at Bayside Elementary school that are involved locally with dance and a variety of sports.
